Westside LA neighborhoods
Canyon estates in Brentwood and post-war bungalows in Mar Vista.

The Westside runs from Bel Air, Century City and Westwood out to the ocean at Pacific Palisades, Santa Monica and Venice, taking in Brentwood, Cheviot Hills, Mar Vista, Culver City, Playa Vista and the neighborhoods in between. It's the part of LA with the most ocean air: summers here run noticeably cooler than in the Valley or Downtown.
Homes run from canyon estates and 1940s and 1950s ranch houses to post-war bungalows, modern rebuilds and newer townhomes. The E Line connects Santa Monica to Downtown, and the 405 and 10 cross here. Santa Monica and Culver City are their own cities; most of the rest is the City of LA.

Gated 1920s estates, canyon roads and big modern houses in the hills above Sunset and UCLA.

Big trees, big lots and a coral tree median, with canyons above and the Getty on the ridge.

A 1960s city within a city on an old studio backlot, now all glass towers, a garden mall and a subway on the way.

Curving, tree-lined hillside streets of 1920s to 1940s homes, wrapped around a golf course and one of the Westside's best parks.

A studio town with its own city hall, Spanish bungalows on leafy streets, and a downtown built around the movies.
Westside living a couple of miles from the beach, with mid-century landmarks and a Sunday farmers market.

Bluffs over the Pacific, canyons behind, and a community rebuilding after the 2025 fire.
One of the Westside's oldest towns, now a central grid of bungalows, condos and global restaurants with an E Line stop.

A planned community of newer homes and parks next to the Ballona Wetlands, built on the old Hughes Aircraft site.

Tree-lined streets, big flat lots, Montana Avenue's shops, and the ocean bluff at the end of the road.
A former small city west of the 405, now a central Westside grid with Sawtelle Japantown's noodle shops and nurseries at its heart.

A mile of doorman towers on Wilshire, with golf course greens on one side and city lights on the other.

Canals, beach cottages and bold modern houses, a few blocks from the sand and Abbot Kinney.

Postwar houses on tree-lined streets, bluff-top views and the Space Age landmark at the edge of LAX.

Movie palace towers, a Spanish Revival village and a campus full of gardens, between Bel Air and Wilshire.
