Zip code 90041, Mar 2026 to May 2026, from the Redfin Data Center. 90041 covers most of Eagle Rock. Zip codes don't line up neatly with neighborhood borders, and medians hide a wide range of homes, so treat these as a rough feel for the area.
The giant rock outcrop at the north end of the neighborhood is named for the indentation on its face that, in the right light, casts the shadow of an eagle in flight. The town that grew up below it incorporated as its own city in 1911 and joined Los Angeles in 1923, largely for aqueduct water, and the rock became the city's tenth Historic-Cultural Monument in 1962.
The homes
Eagle Rock sits in a valley between the San Rafael Hills and the hills along the 2 freeway, with homes on flat streets in the middle and on hillsides around the edges. The core is full of 1910s and 1920s Craftsman bungalows and Spanish Revival homes, many with front porches and detached garages. Up in the hills, you'll find mid-century modern homes and newer contemporary houses with views across the valley.
Lots here are often bigger than in Silver Lake or Echo Park, which leaves room for gardens, a pool or an accessory dwelling unit.

What's new
- North Hollywood to Pasadena Bus Rapid Transit. Metro broke ground in April 2026 on a 19-mile rapid bus line linking North Hollywood, Burbank, Glendale, Eagle Rock and Pasadena, with completion targeted before the 2028 Olympics. (Metro)
- Hollywood Burbank Airport's new terminal. A new 14-gate terminal is scheduled to open on October 13, 2026, replacing the airport's older terminal. (ABC7)
Good to know
- Hillside fire zones. Homes in the surrounding hills often fall in fire hazard severity zones. Check the address early and get insurance quotes.
- Warmer than the coast. Summer days run hotter than on the Westside, so AC is worth checking.
- Older homes. Craftsman-era houses deserve careful inspections, especially foundations, sewer lines and electrical. Many have already been seismically retrofitted, so ask for records.
- City of LA rules apply, including hillside building limits and rent stabilization on many pre-1978 multi-unit buildings.
