Zip code 90803, Mar 2026 to May 2026, from the Redfin Data Center. Long Beach spans many zips; these figures are for 90803, which covers Belmont Shore, Naples and Belmont Heights near the water. Zip codes don't line up neatly with neighborhood borders, and medians hide a wide range of homes, so treat these as a rough feel for the area.
Cunard's Queen Mary sailed her maiden voyage in 1936 and crossed the Atlantic for three decades, with wartime service carrying troops in World War II. Long Beach bought the ship in 1967, and she arrived that December to be permanently moored as a hotel and attraction. Docked across the harbor from downtown, she has been the city's signature landmark ever since.
The homes
Long Beach is a big city with a lot of distinct pockets. Near the water, Naples is a set of small islands in Alamitos Bay laid out around canals, with homes facing the water and boat docks out front. Next door, Belmont Shore and Belmont Heights are full of 1920s Craftsman and Spanish bungalows on narrow lots, many with alley garages. Along the bluffs, the Bluff Park historic district has larger Craftsman and Period Revival homes facing the ocean.
Inland, the variety keeps going. California Heights and Bixby Knolls have 1920s Spanish, Tudor and Craftsman homes on tree-lined streets, and Los Cerritos has larger traditional homes near the historic Rancho Los Cerritos adobe. Lakewood Village and Park Estates lean mid-century, with Park Estates known for its big lots and wide streets. Downtown adds high-rise condos with harbor and ocean views.

- Historic districts. Long Beach has many designated historic districts, including Bluff Park and California Heights, where exterior changes generally go through design review. Ask whether a home is in one before you plan a remodel.

- Near the ports. The Port of Long Beach and the 710 bring truck traffic to the west side of the city. Drive any area at rush hour before you buy.
- Transfer taxes. The City of LA's Measure ULA generally doesn't apply in Long Beach. Verify current transfer taxes with your escrow officer.
