Zip code 91007, Mar 2026 to May 2026, from the Redfin Data Center. Arcadia splits into 91006 and 91007; figures are 91007, the west side around Santa Anita Park, the Arboretum and the Rancho streets. 91006 covers the north and east. Zip codes don't line up neatly with neighborhood borders, and medians hide a wide range of homes, so treat these as a rough feel for the area.

The anchor
Santa Anita Park

Arcadia grew out of Rancho Santa Anita, which E.J. "Lucky" Baldwin bought in 1875, and Baldwin became the city's first mayor when it incorporated in 1903. Part of his old estate became Santa Anita Park, which opened on Christmas Day 1934 as California's first formally established racetrack, with buildings by architect Gordon Kaufmann and an Art Deco grandstand facade that is still largely original.

The homes

Arcadia is mostly single-family homes, many on lots larger than you'll find in most of the San Gabriel Valley. The original housing stock is largely ranch and traditional homes from the 1930s through the 1960s, on wide, tree-lined streets. Over the past few decades many of those houses, especially on the west side near the Arboretum, have been replaced by large new custom homes, so a single block can mix a 1950s ranch with a much newer two-story house.

North of Foothill Boulevard, the streets climb toward the San Gabriel Mountains, with homes that look out over the valley. Closer to Baldwin Avenue, Duarte Road and the downtown near the Metro station, you'll find condos, townhomes and newer mixed-use buildings. If you're comparing the area's estate streets, our San Marino guide is a useful neighbor to read.

The feel

  • Santa Anita Park holds its racing seasons under the mountains, with an Art Deco grandstand and a bronze statue of Seabiscuit, who won the Santa Anita Handicap in 1940.
  • The Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden sits on part of Lucky Baldwin's old ranch, with gardens, a lake, Baldwin's Queen Anne Cottage and peafowl wandering the grounds.
  • The mall next to the track, long known as Westfield Santa Anita, mixes department stores with a long list of restaurants.
  • Duarte Road and Baldwin Avenue are lined with strip centers full of noodle shops, dumpling houses, bakeries and tea shops.

Eat, drink, shop

  • Sushi Kisen (S Baldwin Ave). An Edomae-style sushi bar with fish from Japan, some of it aged, plus well-priced sushi sets at lunch and dinner. The Infatuation
  • Good Alley Reserve (E Duarte Rd). A dressed-up second location of the Rosemead dumpling house, with soup dumplings, rou jia mo and wagyu noodle dishes. The Infatuation
  • Chef Tony (S Baldwin Ave). A streamlined dim sum spinoff of Rosemead's Sea Harbour, known for truffle-topped shu mai and baked pork buns. The Infatuation
  • Din Tai Fung (S Baldwin Ave). The flagship of the Taiwanese dumpling chain, in a big dining room at the mall, best for xiao long bao and garlicky string beans. The Infatuation
  • Adam's Pack Station (Chantry Flat Rd). A 1938 general store up in the mountains that hosts outdoor music nights with burgers on Fridays from March through October. The Infatuation

Getting around

Arcadia sits along the 210, with the 605 to the east and the 10 a short drive south. Off-peak, Downtown LA is often 25 to 30 minutes, and Old Pasadena about 15. The Metro A Line stops at Arcadia station, opened in 2016, with a one-seat ride west through Pasadena to Union Station and east to Pomona. Huntington Drive and Foothill Boulevard are the main surface streets, and Sierra Madre is just over the city line to the north.

What's new

  • A longer A Line. Metro's A Line extension from Glendora to Pomona opened in September 2025, adding four stations east of Arcadia. (Metro)
  • Santa Anita at the Olympics. Santa Anita Park is listed as a venue for the 2028 Olympic Games, about 44 years after it hosted equestrian events at the 1984 Games. (LA28)
  • Good Alley Reserve. A new, more upscale version of the well-known Rosemead dumpling house opened on Duarte Road and was reviewed in September 2026. (The Infatuation)

Good to know

  • Its own city. Arcadia has its own planning, permits and design review, and several areas also have homeowner associations with their own architectural review, so new homes and additions can go through more than one approval. Verify current rules with the City of Arcadia.
  • Two zip codes. Arcadia splits into 91006 and 91007, and prices and lot sizes vary a lot block to block, so compare by street rather than by zip.
  • Fire zones and insurance. Foothill streets north of Foothill Boulevard may fall in mapped fire hazard severity zones. Check any address on CAL FIRE's fire hazard severity zone map and get insurance quotes early in escrow.
  • Older homes and new builds. For postwar ranch homes, look closely at sewer lines, foundations and electrical; for newer custom homes, ask for permits and final sign-offs. I'll gather the documents for any home you like, and if you want my opinion, just ask.
